New Patients

Your First Visit

We truly look forward to meeting you personally. The objective of this first visit is to acquaint you with our team and office and for us to get to know you and/or your child. We understand that each patient's orthodontic goals is different, and with that in mind, we will discuss your expectations and concerns regarding orthodontic treatment in general.

In this initial appointment, Dr. Minahan will conduct a thorough oral-facial examination so that she can determine the need, if any, the timing and duration of orthodontic treatment. We will address any questions you may have with regards to treatment recommendations. Please allow approximately 30 to 45 minutes for this appointment.

If the need for orthodontics is detected, a full set of diagnostic records consisting of digital X-rays, photographs and impressions of your teeth may be taken.

Consultation

After the doctor has evaluated your records, we discuss your treatment, existing conditions and possible options with you in detail.

Financial Information

It is our mission to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget. We offer a variety of payment options to meet your individual needs. Please ask us about financing options, credit card payments and bank drafts. If full payment is made at the onset of orthodontic treatment, we will offer a fee discount. The cost of treatment depends on the severity of and length of treatment anticipated. We discuss all treatment fees and payment options before treatment begins.

Regular Appointments

Appointments involving appliance delivery (braces, expanders, etc.) may take from one to two hours. You'll then visit us at regular intervals 4 to 10 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend us the same courtesy. If you cannot keep an appointment due to an emergency, please notify us immediately. Since most appointments are made weeks in advance, it is may be difficult to reschedule missed appointments immediately.
